I like morning glories, They're pretty and beneficial insects and birds like them.

I hate morning glories. They are a pernicious weed that throttle the life out of other desired plants.

What plant are you conflicted about?

I'm working the weekend so I'm planning an ALL GARDEN DAY for my 'day off' on Monday, there is supposed to be sunshine! and since the baby garlic mustard is peeking out, THERE WILL BE PESTO in my future!!

I have a horrible grass problem in my front garden. I'm not sure what kind of grass is exactly, other than extremely &$#&*$ invasive. It sends out long runners underground (and over ground, and through the house siding, and...) that are nearly impossible to pull out. After being in my yard for a few hours weeding, I have come to the realization that next year we might have to go all container.
There is so much dog weed. Every time I think I grab the root, another comes up. Stupid tuber weeds.
I'm at the point where I just want to pour chemicals on the whole garden.

So some of you may know Leatherleaf Mahonia as a nice ornamental shrub that you see in all the big box stores like Lowes and Home Depot. It's pretty, it looks kinda like a giant holly with very pretty blue berries, it's vigorous, it's tough, what's not to love?

If you live in the South, let me just beg you to back awaaaay from the plant. Please.

We've been having issues with our lawn pretty much since we moved into our new place.  The sod that was put down is very poor quality, full of clover and weeds.  We've been slowly trying to get it where we want it but have given up.  The plan is to start over from scratch in spring.  However, we're concerned about an invader that seems to be taking ( Read more... )

It's pretty, but I know I didn't plant it, and in a year it's spread to four different beds. Sadly, neither of these are great pictures, either. It has an upright pattern, reaching 3-4 ft., with small pine-needle-like leaves all up and down its stalks. The flowers are purple, or pink, or white.

What is this plant?  My neighbor gave it to me last year, but I'm not 100% positive if it is the exact same plant or if it is another which grew from a seed from that one.  I think it's the same one though.   She doesn't know what it is called, but says she has a friend who claims it is a weed.  Still, neat plant, even if it is.
